Mityana Municipality Hosts Successful Emyooga Mass AGM

Mityana Municipality yesterday organised a successfull mass Emyooga AGM for the municipality with the aim of changing leadership and also presenting the audit reports as one way of getting more seed capital.
Principal Commerncial officer Mityana Municipality Joseph Ssemakula while addressing sacco leaaders said that members have to buy shares and also members have to be saving for the sacco to grow.
He also told leaders that this money is for campagins so members have to refund the money in the dacco for other members also to benefit.
Derrick Mastiko cordinator emyooga from micro finance support center said that they have come to give out money to every sacco and have to first verify the saccos and add them more money
Mityana resident district commissioner Drake Joseph Mukiibi thanked the government for giving out emyooga money and he said that president Museveni want to fight out poverty in the families so the government came out with with different inicistives like emyooga to fight poverty though some people have failed to come out and get money to develop them selves.
RDC Mukiibi said that the money they are giving out has to be put in development things which have to develop them than puting the money in luxurry things.
He added that emyooga started with 30 million and every year Saccos are given more additional money of 20 million for those Saccos that have performed well.
He cautioned sacco leaders who have failed to perform well to benchmark to saccos that have performed well so that they can acquire more knowledge of developing their sacco.
Kabaikiriza Mary Favour from the state house thanked sacco leaders for sttending in big number and she said what brought them is to give out money to those saccos that performed well.
She encouraged members in the sacco if their are some leaders who have failed to perform to remove them and elect new members to run the sacco.
Prossy Mbabazi from Microfinance support centre cautioned members who have failed to return the loans they took which she said that they are failing the saccos and those who are not saving are giving a diservice to the sacco.
He cautioned leaders to give out money to all members in the sacco who full fill the requirements and want the saccos to show accountability.
Deputy Chief Administratove officer Mityana district Jack Byaruhanga thanked the government for this iniciative and asked members in myoiga saccos to put money in the right investment.
He informed members that the money has to be paid back so that other people can benefit from the money. He urgued them not to listern to out side voices that come from other corners but listern to voices from government that brings good news for them.
He sited areas of Mbarara,Bushenyi who have used well the money their saccos are operating like banks but hear in central repayment is still poor because of wrong choices they are doing.
